The Poetics of Dance: Collective healing through movement and joy

Our first workshop focusing on embodied knowledge, collective healing, and the body as a living archive will be hosted at AMBi space with Sunanda Mesquita and Mzamo Nondlwana. In preparation for the performance Destination Now Always (on 31st January in Kulturhaus Brotfabrik), a Spoken Word based poetic play, we connect with our body technologies through movement and dance.

About the practice: This movement practice guided by Mzamo Nondlwana explores collective healing and the politics of affection through dance. It envisions healing as a radical practice, one that does not happen in isolation, but within community.

By tapping into collective consciousness, Collective Future Happening imagines an alternative future where gathering, movement, and care become acts of resistance and transformation. This is a ceremonial space for those who seek new ways of coming together, reclaiming joy, and fostering healing as a shared experience.

After the movement practice and a short break Sunanda Mesquita will guide you into Āyurvedic self-care rituals of self-massage, offering moments of rest and regeneration for individual and collective healing.

Invitation Policy

In the course of the project, this workshop centres BIPOC experiences, reflections and projections and is therefore a closed space for Black and Indigenous peoples, and People of Colour.
