Ovidiu ANTON participates artistically in the development of the Library of Civil Disobedience (LoCD), which will be presented in the context of his solo exhibition The same as the last, but darker at the bottom than the top @christinekoeniggalerie. The LoCD works on the collection and documentation of artistic projects of civil disobedience, which is inextricably connected with the development of democracy. Many rights which we can rely on today are the product of civil disobedience, and are therefore rights that have been fought for. In times when civil disobedience is increasingly criminalised, it is the purpose of the LoCD to raise voices for these projects – and thereby for democracy.The LoCD cooperates with artists and activists such as Zoe Gudovic, Masimaba Hwati, Susana Ojeda, and Kweku Okokroko; it is headed by Negin Rezaie and Emma Dirnhofer, and accompanied by Andreas Spiegl.
